Okay for everyone who is planning to dual boot to get XP on your computer so you don't dc form Maple...KEEP IN MIND THIS IS ACCURATE FOR PEOPLE WITH HP COMPUTERS...other comps you will have to find it but it shouldn't be that different.

When you boot up from the CD with the XP disk, chances are once it copies all the setup files and is about to setup Windows XP you will get a Stop Code Error (as stated in the title).

This is because XP cannot read the SATA Controller in the mode it is on the computer (AHCI or something like that), and it needs to be in IDE mode in order for XP to work.

Here are the steps to change it:

1) When you boot up your computer press F10 to get into your BIOS (basically whatever key it is to get into your BIOS...I know for me it's F10 and I don't think that it is different for the same computer brand).

2) When you get into your BIOS screen, go to the "advanced" tab and then select the "SATA Controller 1" (I think that's the name...basically w/e SATA has AHCI next to its name) and press enter.

3) When you press enter a small window will come up with 3 different options: IDE, RAID, & AHCI. For XP to work, it's going to need to be under IDE so select that.

4) After this, exit save changes, and boot up the disk to install XP onto the partition you made.

NOTE: In order to go back to Windows 7, you will need to re-enter the BIOS and change it back to AHCI. If you want to go back to Windows XP, you will need to change it back to IDE. I know it sounds like a pain but this literally would take 5 seconds so it won't be too much of a hassle.

As far as the rest of the tutorial, read Boris's post Smile

Hope this helps ^^
